News from Bluebill Retrievers

The upcoming hunting season will soon be starting. It kind of slipped up on me this year. I was hoping to have Torrie ready for hunting doves but it didn't work out that way. Connie is working on Torrie's obedience skills and she is coming along really well. Hopefully she will get a few birds in December and January.

Some tips on hunting in the early season

I would like to give a couple of helpful hints on hunting the early migratory bird season. It's usually hot weather, and when you are hunting with your dog you should keep a watchful eye and make sure they don't get over heated. This can happen quickly, especially with young pups and older dogs. You should take plenty of water and keep your buddy hydrated. Watch for discoloration of their tongue and gums.

It's not worth jeopardizing your hunting buddy's health.
