Bluebill Retrievers is owned by Rollie and Connie French. They started training retrievers together 20 years ago. Rollie first owned a Golden Retriever, Baron, in 1974 and he had 14 years of exceptional hunting experiences with him. Baron was very trainable and a wonderful companion dog. I met Rollie towards the end of Baron's life and they taught me to waterfowl hunt and we shared several wonderful years hunting together. After Baron died Rollie purchased me another Golden Retriever. Life was not easy in the beginning because we didn't know the ins and outs of purchasing a puppy from a reputable breeder. Our Golden Retriever, Rudy, had to retire due to health issues when he was a very young 5 years old. We searched for another Golden Retriever and couldn't find one that we liked so we purchased our first Labrador Retriever, Thunder, from Jack Shepard of Fourmile Creek Kennels in Eaton, Ohio in 1995. What an experience! We have been hooked on Labradors ever since and have researched and started breeding sound Labrador Retrievers.
We started offering Field Training and Basic Obedience once Rollie retired. We are small and enjoy seeing people we train with succeed in accomplishing their goals be it in the field or just having a good companion.
